ur inimitable Dance Guru Ian Cox will once again be coordinating the Dance sides for the 2018 Folk Festival. Ian has extensive skills not only as a Dancer in two Morris sides but in bringing together sides of similar ilk and creating a brilliant programme. Those who came and participated at the 2017 Festival will know how much we appreciate them and that we have an emphasis on enjoying the occasion. With 20 + sides participating it was a brilliantly colourful and energetic event in the true festival fashion. Indeed most sides have already asked to return for 2018 ! We welcome any side wishing to participate in the 2018 Bridport Folk Festival and request they make themselves known to Ian via e.mail on firstname.lastname@example.org
We we also have a Morris Workshop - West Dorsets 'Wyld Morris' a mixed side, dance's Cotswold and Border Traditions. Their workshop offers a chance for dancers to learn something new and beginners to master a full dance. Sticks can be provided, unless you have your own. Suitable for ages 7- 70+ (Under10 s accompanied). A fun taster session at the end of which you will have danced all the figures, with dance choruses of a complete Morris Dance.
